[atrb=border, 0, true][atrb=width, 350px, true][atrb=id, glossary][classy=fieldbody_n]can i play rin/yukio/shura? nope. this is an au site, so they don't exist in memento mori's continuity. (nor do any other characters from the original series. 'cept satan and his chums, but they're open to interpretation.) then can i use their faceclaims? nope. > then can my kid be the spawn of satan? no. we don't need any rin expies running around with their funny ears and tails. and you do realize how ridiculous that question sounds, right? whatever happened to the characters from v1/v2? the slate's been wiped clean. you can bring back anyone you've made before, as long as you adhere to the new canon list (for demon kings and halflings). for that matter, what happened to missions? we've noticed that missions are just not popular anymore, and so we've got rid of them. if you'd like to set up a mission-esque thread, you can use the "character plots" forum found here to plan. how do humans and demons interact? first of all, after the war of 2012, the mundane world is aware of the existence of demons. everyone knows that there is a supernatural and demonic power out there. however, only humans with mashō can tell the difference. they can see that an animal isn't just a fox, for example, but rather is a kitsune possessing a fox's body. ordinary people can't. they also can't see the effects of a demon's attacks or abilities, and will instead rationalize them as other things. how are demons detected? although demons can possess anything, all demons have a certain form that is similar to their own: hellhounds like to possess regular dogs, for example. the further separated a demon is in form from their possessed, the more the bodies will be incompatible and the easier it will be for an exorcist to tell by their behavior and general spiritual energy. a hellhound who took over a human body will be a lot easier to discern than if they had taken over a ghost's. of course, once they release their demonic features or abilities, it becomes pretty evident. what do professionals do for jobs? you have three options. one, they can be a full-time teacher at true cross west (or if you have a reason, any other branch), in which case they get assigned missions as part of their job. two, they can have a totally separate job in addition to their exorcist work, but then you'll have to strike some kind of balance. three, they could be working for the vatican full-time and are just here on a visit, as seen with our three investigator canons. this last option would only really fit a higher-up who does paperwork over exorcisms, though. why did you change my professional's rank? experience comes with age, and so your character might just be too young for that amount of skill. generally speaking, anyone in their twenties shouldn't be any higher than middle second. anything more would require a lot of field work or an insane amount of prodigious goodness, and that can make you a sue. who's the paladin? if you're asking who he is, he's the most powerful exorcist and the one who currently leads the whole global order. if you're asking who plays him, nobody at the moment. since the paladin's a very important character, he's an npc for the indefinite future and will be brought out rarely if at all. are there other branches of true cross? there are, in fact. the academy has established a total of five branches across the globe. you already know about true cross west. true cross east, the oldest and original, is located in tokyo, japan. true cross north is in copenhagen, denmark while true cross south can be found in johannesburg, south africa. finally, the biggest and newest of the branches, true cross central, is in rome, italy, within a special exclave of the vatican city. other than locations, all details are up in the air, so if you'd like to reference them in your character's history go wild. |
