It had seemed this morning when he laid his head on his pillow that he had only slept for a minute before his alarm clock went off. Of course he had gotten three hours of sleep, which he could work with he just wouldn't be pleasant to be around for a few hours, that of course meant he was usually pleasant to be around which wasn't usually the case. Anyways what was he doing up so late? Doing his job of course. He was inspecting the town, there was a definite increase of demons in this town. It was entertaining enough to hunt them at night, and he sometimes saw some of the older students out and such.
Acheron just wished his day didn't start so damn early. Of course it didn't have to but Ash made it start early anyways. Damn his hard working nature. Well not so much hard working as the fact that he was determined to be the best out of the three inspectors, like hell he was going to let one of them show him up.
He had managed to get up and make his way to the local starbucks like he did some mornings. Ash managed to still look professional doing it as well which was slightly surprising since he was grumpy as hell. His hair was tied back and his suit was on, the look of a gentleman. Ha yeah right. Ash was no where near a gentleman.
The inspector impatiently waited in line, order a chai tea latte, and sat in a corner where he could see everyone easily. He leaned his head back looking rather comfortable though most wouldn't know that he was always ready for something to happen. He even had his trident with him, though it was wrapped in a cloth so it wouldn't scare some poor civilian. Ash sat sipping his chai tea watching the crowd. There would be some students in grabbing coffee before the day started, students as well, even possibly a demon. Could he get that lucky, maybe.

Starbucks was a regular haunt for for Danielle Dunesworth. And of course, wherever Danielle Dunesworth went, so too did her gale. Tamer and demon sat at their usual table outside of the coffee shop (because pets weren't allowed inside). The young blonde sat leaning on her propped-up palm while she fingered idly through her copy of the Holy Bible. Chaos pecked eagerly at his scone and Danielle's coffee - her ordering it being a momentary lapse of judgement on her part - sat unattended on the other end of her table.
Coffee, she decided after a single taste, was definitely not her cup of tea. No pun intended. And after a half hour of reading - well, glancing - through the bible, neither was being an Aria. The second year sighed before flicking her eyes from the page towards the cup of Darjeeling tea beside her.
How about Dragoon or Knight? The Gale's voice resounded in her head.
She quirked her brow. "You're seriously suggesting that. After all the physical combat lessons you've watched me endure?" Dani set down the tea in a huff.
A mere suggestion, replied the demon without leaving his scone. Is it not wise to work on one's faults?
"And is it not wiser to develop one's strengths?" she asked him, not missing a beat. "Rather than try to become someone I'm not."
Touché, the bird chuckled. What about Doctor then? You're great at anti-demon pharmacology.
"But Doctors can't really protect themselves!" she cried in frustration. The bible flipped shut with a loud thud and it was only after a moment that she realized her outburst. Her blonde head ducked slightly in between her shoulder blades in embarrassment. "So basically, that doesn't really solve anything." She hissed at her gale.

Abel burst in the door of the Starbucks pushing a strand of his white hair away with his gloved hand, his eyes bright and gleaming. Today he would make a leap in his understanding of humankind. He heard, for a while now, that humans invented a way to stay up for hours on end. It was called coffee. But though Abel always wanted to try it and got jealous every time he saw his coworkers drinking it. He never had the courage to get one himself. But after weeks of researching and asking around he finally found the resolve to go through with it.
Abel moved confidently and very determined up to the counter his hand clutching the necessary amount of money it would take to buy a coffee. After waiting for his turn at the cashier he looked at the young woman who was politely asking for his order. Her kindness eased Abel's mind. He was glad humans were so nice, no matter how mean they seemed most of them in the end were nice. After a deep breath Abel spoke. "Uhm...I'd like one coffee!" he said feeling confident about his choice of beverages. Though he was happy the cashier looked at him dumbfounded ."uhmm could you...be a bit more specific?" She said politely. Abel looked at her dumbfounded but then noticed the sign behind her. There was so much choices and all of them looked good.
He was mesmerized by the menu leave it to the humans to take a good concept and make it even better! This made him respect them more. He'd have to note this down as a point when he would make his argument for peace. But right now he had a different task...a different mission. Though he was taken off guard he would not be defeated he had the money and the resolve. Abel scanned the menu took another deep breath and in a fierce but very nervous voice said. 'One espresso please!" The cashier smiled pushed the button and asked for the money that Abel had.
He smiled and felt accomplished this was great he thought he really did it! He grabbed the shot and found his way to a man sipping silently on his coffee. He looked lonely and frankly Abel was to scared to drink it by himself. 'Hello what a great day it is to drink coffee, huh? How many years have you been drinking coffee? This is my first time...I'm kinda scared but I've really wanted to try it since I cam- I mean heard of coffee.!" After Abel said this he drank the shot of espresso it was bitter but warm and made him feel good.

Ash sensed another exorcist near by and saw a student outside with her familiar, he only knew she was a student because she bugged Thane, another inspector, that and it was his job to know who she was. Her familiar was a gale demon, wind elemental, and she had been at the bridge pulling careless moves. She hadn't seemed to notice him, which was good since he wasn't exactly in the mood to deal with a bratty teen age girl. God the hormones, how could the professors stand teaching teenagers?
Then he sensed something more powerful, demon king powerful. Ash eyed the man that walked in and up to the counter. He couldn't hear him from this distance but he knew the feeling was coming from him. He was shocked though when the man walked right up to, and he got a closer look. This was the demon king that the Holy See used as an... informant. If he was in charge he would have said hell no and killed him, but no he wasn't so he had to tolerate the demon king. Not that the other guy seemed to have any clue who he was talking to.
"I'm more of a tea person." Said Acheron cooly as he stared the other man down. He was so bubbly, it was way too early for bubbly. "And coffee has been around for some time now." He added. "It would be best to learn that if you plan to blend in." He said as he took a sip of his chai tea latte. One thing he had running through his head now was that he didn't trust the demon king even if the holy see was using him, and there was a student outside, a vulnerable stupid little student, and unfortunetly it was his job to protect her. Just great he got to sit here and chat with a demon king instead of killing it to protect a student. His morning was just awesome.

Dani might not have been the most sensitive exwire when it came to intuitively sensing the presence of demons (and who could blame her, seeing as she's only a little over a year into her exorcism career), but the same could not be said about her familiar. Not that anyone could miss that eccentric (relatively) young man that hurried into the store. "That glint in his eye," she muttered absently, "one could almost think that he's never been to a Starbucks outlet before."
The following exchange at the counter almost caused her to spit out her tea. Almost being the keyword, that was.
Ho, finally realized it, I see. Chaos' cynicism was undisguised.
"A demon?" she said, replacing the cup on its saucer. She observed the man through the corner of her eye.
A demon KING, the gale corrected. Beelzebub, to be more precise. Not to worry, he's not the type to cause trouble for us. The bird chuckled. Well, not intentionally anyway.
"I see," she said, now watching the man with open curiosity. "Well, he doesn't seem overly malicious. Not at all like Mormon," she observed.
Quite right, replied the gale, now perching itself on her shoulder. Although it seems our inspector friend isn't too happy with him.
She chortled inwardly. "Well, he does have a point. Beelzebub's going to have to do better than expressing himself so openly in publ- well, to an inspector." To that inspector.
The bird looked at its tamer, its beak widening into an unmistakable smirk. You want to be friends with him, it said, the old, wizened voice sounding both playful and mischievous.
"Perhaps," she replied without hesitation. "He is an intriguing fellow. He looks like he's having fun."

More of tea person, then why would he come to a coffee shop? Abel didn't understand but then again there was a lot he didn't understand. One thing though that he did know was the jittery feeling that was coursing through him he really felt like getting up and doing something...anything but he didn't know. Abel looked around and then back at the shot of espresso was this the effect of the legendary coffee? Was it to strong from him, a demon king? Abel's eyes widened at the thought but looked back up to the man. After all he was going to make a coffee shop friend. It was on his to do list to make some friends and hangout at a local coffee shop. It'd be like that one show he had seen when he first got here. It was at this moment that he stopped, or at least as much as he could his hand seemed to be having some tremors.
This guy knew but it wasn't a big surprise there where exorcists everywhere so it wasn't to big of a shock. "Not a coffee person, really? I think coffee is great...I mean I feel great. I've had tea before it's good but it doesn't make me feel good like this." He said beaming. Abel shifted his focus then from this man to another person...this time a girl. He could sense it for some time now. A presence of a demon though he was to concentrated on getting his coffee. But now he was done with that mission and he felt good. Besides Abel could tell this girl wasn't malicious. After all most demons who found him either ran frightened or tried attacking him outright to up their prestige.
Abel turned and looked at the girl waving as he smiled. "Hey you're an exorcist, right? I can tell, you look lonely why don't you join us I got this cool thing...it's called an espresso. Blue says it's been around forever but it's still good. Ah, blue is this man I call him that cause his hair looks blue and he always acts depressed. He's a good person though but he's more of a tea drinker." He yelled at the girl smiling. He was happy that he came down to this Starbucks he was going to make friends.

The demon king was looking like he was ready to explode off the chair. He seemed bouncy anyways, but now he seemed even worse, it was unbearable. His fingers itched towards his holy grenades, just pour a little into the espresso when he wasn't looking and the nuisance would be out of his hair. Unfortunetly he couldn't do that or the holy see would get angry, and his job paid well so he didn't want to lose it.
Acheron just sat there as the demon king bounced in his seat, apparently he didn't know that espresso was one of the strongest. The fact that it hit so fast was surprising but that didn't matter, he was still getting extremely annoyed by his presence. "Uh huh." He said blandly. Ash didn't think the demon was going to go away anytime in the near future, damn.
The demon king's outburst wasn't even face palm worthy. This was table flip worthy. It was so hard to resist the temptation to flip the table and just dump his holy water on the guy. Why not just announce to the civilian populace that he was a powerful demon. Wait, if he did that they might send him to the loony bin and out of his hair. "Don't act like you know me." He hissed.

The gale chuckled silently on his perch. Don't look now, but I think our inspector-friend's patience is just about at its end, he told her, clearly enjoying the scenario.
"Don't be mean," she scolded half-heartedly. Although... it did feel just a little awkward to be flagged down by a demon king in public. Dani's cheeks were dusted pink when Abel addressed her as an exorcist. But hey, who was she to turn down an invitation from a demon king. "I'll be just a moment, Chaos," she told her familiar. In response, the bird flitted off her shoulder and returned happily to his scone.
"I'm afraid they don't allow birds in the store," she said, approaching the table with a nervous smile. A glance at Acheron had the blonde stifling a giggle. Being called 'Blue' of all things... Dani might have respected the senior inspector, but it was rather hilarious. She cleared her throat. "And I'm afraid I'm not quite an exorcist just yet," she said. She smiled winningly at Abel. "I've got another cup if you'd like to have it. It'll have gone a bit cold by now but I imagine it'll still taste alright." Of course, there was no telling how a second cup of coffee would affect the already-high demon king. It was a latte, meaning that it would taste less bitter compared with Abel's shot of espresso. Or so she believed.
She cleared her throat again. "It's also a pleasure to see you, inspector." It really wasn't. But Danielle was aware that she had made a rather poor impression on the seniors during the bridge bombing mission (even though she had acted on what she believed to be Acheron's orders) and it did her no good to withhold the respect she owed to the older exorcist. Oh that's right, Acheron was a doctor, wasn't he? Perhaps she might be able to get his opinion on the meister later on.
