[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,468px,true][bg=B1B1B1][atrb=style, border: solid 10px #345775; opacity: .70] matt cross thirty-five | homosexual | faculty | biology & demon phys this is matt. he's just about the biggest asshole in the whole of santa prospera, but don't let that stop you. if you were bleeding, he'd probably help. friends his friends tend to be few and far between, generally people who won't be insulted by his demeanour and/or general attitude towards people. he is absolutely defenceless against naturally good-natured people, but being him tends to put them off - he gets on best with people who don't take shit and don't witter on to him about things he doesn't care for. enemies hell, he doesn't like most people, but real enemies? problem students could fall into this category, as his idea of 'dealing with troublemakers' is to relentlessly persecute them until he breaks them. it's his will against theirs, and he will fucking well win if it kills him. other colleagues could fall under his 'threshold' - the minimum level of intelligence he expects someone to be able to function on - and the endless sarcastic comments and snide remarks are bound to wear away at the patience of anyone he doesn't respect. lovers at the moment the odds of matt finding anything even resembling romance is slim. while easy to get into bed he will then spend the rest of his life trying to avoid people because he does not do relationships, and a lot of the time he can come off as rather cynical and/or uptight about the concept of love or even dating. others I'D KIND OF LIKE HIM TO MENTOR A STUDENT OR TWO? mostly because it would be hilarious but also because he takes this job pretty seriously and it might actually do him some good to have one of these young people telling him that yes, he is a jackass and it's not particularly helping his teaching.

so, as i mentioned earlier, my main idea for these two is the whole 'eidetic memory not-buddies'. because, you know, these two are going to clash, and they are going to do it spectacularly; think of it like alex and matt, except without the mutual respect. not to say there won't be respect... i'm sure rowan will find it in him to respect matt for his superb medicinal skills, but, well... he's never going to admit it. ever. and i find it hard to believe that matt will respect him for anything, either, unless you can find something xD they're both arrogant pricks, but they''re insufferable, intelligent arrogant pricks, and they must stick together somehow.

rowan is in constant need of intellectual stimulation, and i think this is where matt may come in. oh, the conversations they could have... they would give most people headaches. not to mention they could always talk about their eidetic memories... but that's a slim possibility. they're both way too misanthropic to trust anyone else with that kind of information.

now, there's also the possibility that, considering matt is eleven years older, he may have had rowan as a student at one point. if that were the case, i could definitely see a reluctant mentorship having been created; reluctant on rowan's side because he hates people, especially adult figures at that point in his life because of his time in the foster care system. reluctant on matt's side because... well. he's matt. he doesn't deal well with students that think they know everything. and now i'm just kinda word vomiting. please stop me.

Yea... Matt's subjects aren't a problem for the book-smart Dani, but his attitude sure will be. She doesn't think very much of him at all. For starters, if he can't even keep his impulses and cynicism in check as a teacher, well, Dani doesn't think he's worth her time to interact with. Much. She'll be that girl who sits at the very back of his classroom, interacts with anyone minimally during his lessons, pretends to be uninterested and still ace her tests just to show that she doesn't really him as a teacher in order to do well. Meh, come back when you've grown up, sir.

oh, good. rowan may be slightly offended and highly suspicious if matt didn't act like his normal jackass self around him. may even call the people in the white coats, or at least a journalist because the world would be ending. so i am modifying my previous statement. they aren't not-buddies. they are grudgingly-maybe-so-reluctant-it-hurts-kind-of-buddies. the kind that are so ridiculously not nice to each other that everyone wonders how in the world they get along, but they sort of understand. sort of.

xD "breathless scientific debates in broom closets " oh jeez never let raz find out about that one, but i generally agree. they're going to consistently be having debates over things, whether it's when they're forced into each others classrooms for demonstrations or even on missions. mental image: they're supposed to be tracking down a demon and end up having a debate over something or other.. like the string theory for example, and the demon surrenders because god damn, it doesn't make any sense. which is when rowan bashes it over the head because he was having a conversation, dammit.

:'D unfortunetly Emma would be used to that kind of treatment since she has two older brothers, one being the same age as Matt. She wouldn't put up with it either, she would argue, and try and spar with him so she could show him that she isn't a weakling. So in a way she would treat him like she does her brothers minus the warm fuzzy family feeling xD

bugging 2.0 i even managed to find a super-special glasses icon just for you xD

so, i had to go back and look at stella and matt's old plot to get an idea of what to put here, but then i immediately disregarded it. you know why? because stella would make matt her mentor, whether he's willing or not. she'd adore his class, not only because it's biology, but because matt's a hardass and will push her to do that much better. not that she's going to make life easy on him; she'd constantly be pestering him and calling him out in class whenever she thinks he's wrong, and there's certainly no way she'd ever back down once she challenges him. she'd be the loud, obnoxious know-it-all in his class, and she honestly wouldn't care because it would mean learning more.

so, recently, stella has been having some internal conflict. something about her not being able to enjoy life to the fullest because she's not a demon or a human. maybe she'd confide in matt about it, only for him to beat her down (which is probably what she needs, to be honest). on the other hand, she may just be there to bug him and have him challenge her to work harder xD and, you know, make sure she isn't going all demon-y on people. try to keep her out of trouble.
