There were two things Declan Sun did not like; thunder and shitty Italian restaurants. He was quite the pasta snob after traveling to Italy for exorcist training and trying authentic, delicious pasta. Ever since, he's been skeptical of any American-Italian restaurant joint and Aligheri's was no different. But then again, it didn't matter much; he wasn't paying the bill. He had sent Thane an email through his cell phone about four hours prior, offering him to go out for dinner. He had something to discuss. Declan was aware of Thane's position as an investigator and he wanted to see how things were coming along. He was worried that people would respond negatively to the halfling students and a had a good hunch that someone would make it a bigger problem then what it actually was. "That's the problem with these investigators," mused Declan, fidgeting somewhat as he waited. "They're useless."
A delicately groomed waiter had suavely made his way towards Declan and stopped for a moment, staring. Uninterested and seemingly apathetic towards his psuedo-advances, he craned his neck to face the waiter. "Mind getting me and my guest a glass of water? He should be here soon." mumbled Declan, turning his attention back to the glossy, heavily decorated window. The restaurant's aroma was filled with garlic, oregano, seafood, and the smell of freshly boiled pasta. The waiter shuffled away meekly and the pink haired teacher would continue to wait until his guest would arrive.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 350px; height: auto, btable] Thane was never a person to indulge in the extravagances of a restaurant. Food was food and it only served one purpose: preventing you from dying. Thinking like that, it made no sense to pay so many more times the amount of money for something that would equally fill your stomach. Not only that, but he wasn't one to really go along with things out of politeness -- unless, of course, the opposite party was someone higher ranking than himself. So really, it wouldn't have been strange if he had just ignored the email and went on his own business. After all, for all he knew, Sun could have been calling him out to make sure he wasn't on school grounds for when something occurred tonight.
But then, it did intrigue him why Sun would bother sending him an invitation. He was fairly sure the professional didn't like him, along with the rest of the staff body. So if Sun was willing to put up being in such close proximity of Thane, then it must have been something significant. Anka and Acheros were still on campus so he could be fairly sure that the school wouldn't blow up in his absence. With that said, he found himself stepping through the door of the local Italian restaurant at the exact appointed time. It wasn't hard to locate his company for the evening.
Walking towards the table, he sat down opposite the pink-haired instructor. "I hope you haven't been waiting long," Thane said, his tone not the least bit apologetic despite his meaning.

The sound of chimes signaled the pink professor that someone had entered the restaurant. Glancing up after previously looking at his nails idly, his blue eyes focused on the figure; Thane. Without being prompted by the hostess, the inspector had made his way towards the table. Crossing his legs gently, Declan gave a sickly saccharine smile as a greeting. He gave a simple nod when Thane offered his apology, although the professor was far too keen for his own good; it wasn't much of an apology as soon as it spewed from his mouth. Declan had nothing to say for the moment, offering silence as a better way of beginning the conversation and by setting the mood. By now, the waiter had bustled around to take their orders - Declan simply taking some sort of vegan pasta salad - and meekly went back to the kitchen to begin preparing the meal.
"How's the inspecting going?
[/color]" asked the teacher, teasingly toying with his pink tresses. He twirled the hair around his index finger coyly like a chatty schoolgirl, his tongue darting out to flick over his lips. He knew that Thane was aware of the teachers' opinions of the inspectors in the school. They felt as if their school was being violated and a lot of staff members felt offended and worried for the halfling students - and if they'd be a target for violent prejudice. Taking a sip of water, he waited for his answer.[/div][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 350px; height: auto, btable] A period of silence drew out between the two exorcists but Thane paid it no heed. A moment after, a waiter appeared to take their order. Mildly noting that his company decided to go with a semi-light salad, he called for himself a simple plate of pasta. Only when they were alone once more did Declan speak up. He didn't even bother beating around the bush or talking about the weather, a fact that Thane could appreciate and be thankful for. Or was he?
"Hm," the tamer hummed from the back of his throat. If he claimed otherwise, he'd be lying awfully. Sun and his choice of dress still impressed an... interesting impression on the Honorary Knight. Well... dressing that way was one thing. Acting that way, though, was something else entirely. If Sun's goal was to throw of his opponents, Thane would almost say he was doing a good job of it. Not that, of course, it was any of his business to prod into the outlook of others. "Smoothly," he replied finally. "Though I'm sure you'd understand if I don't elaborate further."
