Being so high aloft, there was very little Dani could have done for her classmate, save rush to his rescue, especially when attacks of wind elemental had a possibility of enhancing the abilities of a well-informed Hellhound. To make matters worse, Dani, who had never met this particular demon before, had no way of gauging just how powerful it was or how proficient it was in combat.
Ever on top of the situation, Chaos needed no prompting from his tamer. The gale veered just a foot shy of knocking the Hellhound off the boy, landing lightly a short distance away.
"You interrupt our training, Hellhound," said the bird-familiar said to the newcomer even as his tamer disembarked.
Dani, much too concerned about her friend's safety to worry about a conversation between demons, was immediately at the boy's side. "Miki, are you alright?" she asked, worried. The blonde stopped to look at the newly summoned demon. "And no, I didn't," she said. "But high levelled demons can't enter the academy grounds without permission from the headmistress or a summoning." Dani surveyed the large dog. "Summoning typically requires a seal, an incantation and an offering of blood. From what I do see, you are a high levelled demon. Just how exactly did you come to be summoned by my friend here?" The possibility of Fury being summoned by Mikhail was much higher than for him to have sneaked onto the grounds. But just because a demon said so, didn't mean that it was true. Miki wasn't the only tamer at the academy, and it was a sad fact that the boy was an easy target for pranks. |

Fury gave the other demon a low growl before looking at the girl who was coming to Mik's rescue. "Being saved by your girlfriend, you really are pathetic." He huffed. "But Blaze says you have potential so I let him tell you my summoning." MIkhail gawked at the hellhound. "She's not my girlfriend!" His cheeks were starting to turn a light pink. "Whatever."
Mikhail blinked at the new hellhound before looking at Dani. "Y-Yeah I'm ok." The hellhound grinned at the girl. "Well aren't you just a smart one." He scratched at another itch behind his ear. "See the marks on his gloves, those are the seals for Blaze and I." Mik looked somewhat startled, he hadn't known that... "As the for the incantation, Blaze gave it to him a moment before he had to back out, and finally the blood, check his arm." Fury sneered at Mikhail who looked down at his arm, and there was just a tiny bit of blood. "This kid's skin is like paper, that first hit cut him slightly, and it got on the glove. And so he summoned me."
Mikhail thought it all sounded alright, it made sense in a way, just one thing eluded him. "Why did you let me summon you, if that's what you are getting at." He was generally confused, he was surprised he had a familiar at all. Fury just huffed. "Blaze says you have potential and need an older hellhound to train you." Mikhail blinked, that was so nice of his familiar but this one seemed scary and mean, he wasn't so sure he wanted Fury to train him. "Yes you do or a bigger demon will eat you." He said simply to the boy, Mik still getting used to one that could read his thoughts, eye's widened and then looked between Dani and Fury, was this really happening, or did he get knocked out somehow?

He did as the Hellhound bid and saw that truly the conditions for a summoning had been met. But, "The intensity of the winds that Chaos created throughout this session weren't meant for cutting," she said. She supposed that a cut would have been possible had Miki accelerated at the right angle. The chances had been one in a million though.
Dani shook her head, entirely disregarding the Hellhound's assumption that she and Miki were a couple. A demon's taunt was nothing new, especially coming from a powerful familiar. She and Chaos often partook in verbal warfare, if only to amuse themselves. She turned her attention back on the hound, her expression both approving and bemused. "You're thorough," she observed. If one thought about it, Fury might be just the thing to help Miki with his confidence-issue. After all, from the looks of things it was either shape up or get taken out by the new familiar for Miki.
She cocked her head. "He's got a point though, Miki." Smiling, she said, "Congratulations on a new familiar."
Dani's eyes fell on Chaos, who was still awaiting further instructions. "Well then," she said to boy and dog. "Now that that's settled, did you want some time to get acquainted, or would you like to test your new strengths against us? Although you'll want to have that cut looked at after this." Unlike Fury and Miki, Dani and Chaos had a very good idea of each other's strengths and weaknesses and knew how to compensate for each other. |

Fury looked at the girl. "Maybe you opened an old wound, the kid has plenty I assume." The hound doubted the kid could walk without tripping or falling into some sort of prank set out for him. Such an easy target, he really needed to man up or he was never going to stop getting bullied. People thought high school could be bad but the demon knew that life could be much worse at times.
Mikhail continued to look between his friend and his new familiar. It was going to take some getting used to, not to mention the ragging on him was going to get old really fast. "Of course I am girl." The hellhound sneered. He was rather prideful, must have come with the age. Mik just knew that he was in for a hell of a time, he thought Mr. Fowley was bad, this seemed worse because this one could yell at him in is head too. Aw man, and it was so nice having only one person rag on him being completely incompetent.
Mik scratched the back of his head. "Thanks Dani." Though he didn't feel so special at the moment. In fact he was tired, and his arm was soar. "Mikhail cannot continue training." Fury informed Dani. "He can only have one of us out at a time, unless he uses a special ability of mine." If dogs could look smug this one did. "And I refuse to connect with him like Blaze does." Well that was a relief for Mik, he didn't want to be connected to someone so grouchy and seemingly powerful. "Not to mention the boy is weak and cannot connect with Blaze again until he rests." Well Mik wouldn't have mentioned that but apparently it was important information for Fury to spit out.

Danielle wasn't at all put off when Fury expressed Miki's inability to continue the session. Shrugging it off, she said, "That's certainly a good call, Fury. Although I imagined that you would be the type of familiar that fought independently." She looked at Miki, not particularly concerned. After all, fighting from the side-lines and watching one's familiar work merely took a little getting used to. She couldn't imagine the need for Miki and Fury to 'connect' the way he and Blaze did.
However, it was up to the pair to decide on their style of fighting. Though Miki had never impressed upon Dani as the type to utilize strategies, she had faith that Miki would find a way to compliment himself with the new familiar. That was a tamer's responsibility; something Dani trusted Miki to know.
"If we're done here, perhaps we ought to have you seen to the infirmary," she said. "The sooner you get yourself patched up, the sooner we can train again, right?" At this point, it was difficult to say what Dani thought of Miki's new familiar. It was rough and disagreeable but it did seem to have Miki's best interest at heart. Fury also seemed very attached to Blaze, which meant that Miki wasn't likely to see any permanent damage under Fury's watch. But then, who could tell a demon's patience and intents? |

Fury tilted his head at the girl. "I do fight on my own." He didn't combine like Blaze, he didn't like it all that much, besides if the boy was going to learn at all he needed to learn how to fight on his own, without Blaze, that was why he was there, sure Blaze gave him added strength and such but Mikhail needed to learn to take care of himself or he was demon chow.
Mikhail nodded as he stood up and dusted himself off. "Yeah sounds like a good idea." He did need to train more, but a nap was sounding better by the moment. He yawned slightly and shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe we can train more again tomorrow." Sounded good to him, as long as he got some rest and video game time. Oh and there was homework, but that could be put off a little longer.
"I trust you can take him to the infirmary without my help." The hound grinned before disappearing. Mikhail shrugged, he didn't need help to the infirmary he was a big boy. Not to mention it was a slight cut that didn't really need that much attention. Maybe a little disinfectant and a band aid, he probably didn't even need the latter. "Thanks again for training with me Dani." He grinned scratching the back of his head. He turned towards the school. "Probably should get going, you don't have to come with me if you don't want to." He smiled and waved a bit before starting to walk away.

Danielle thought with a grin. Fury was a strong familiar, and he acted tough. But Dani could tell that that hellhound was likely just as affectionate as its pup-of-a-brother, even if it had a different way of showing it. The short exchange between demon and tamers just before it poofed from their presence proved just that.
Well, that was reassuring. At the very least, Dani wouldn't have to worry about Mikhail turning into dog food for the fiery siblings. She smiled at her friend. "We'll see, and that's no problem. If you're sure you're alright, I suppose Chaos and I will be off," she replied, taking a leaf from Fury's book. It did no good to baby Miki just because he appeared weak or timid. Besides, the infirmary wasn't far.
Clambering back onto her own familiar, she spurred the gale onwards and upwards. The whirlwind pair weren't quite done with their training just yet. |
