Mikhail liked going outside despite his somewhat gamer like attitude or his lazy side. He liked days that were on the cooler side and had a slight breeze. Today seemed like one of those days so he was going to go outside and well practice with Blaze, though in Blaze's mind it was just playing around, or that's what he assumed since unlike some other tamer's he couldn't talk telepathically with Blaze. Blaze still being a puppy left him weaker than others, but when they were combined it made up for that.
So outside he went, he had a hoodie on to protect from any fall chill that may have reared its head while he wasn't looking. Not to mention he got cold pretty easily. Though that only started happening after he was attacked by the demon a few years ago. He made his way to his favorite part of the grounds which was near the chapel. It was a pretty building, he always liked architecture, had even though about studying it before he became an exorcist.
Once in his spot he pulled out a piece of paper and began making the summoning circle. "From the deep swallowed in flames, I call forth thee." He said and out popped a flaming Blaze. The flames stopped and the puppy shook out his black fur and turned his red eyes onto Mikhail. "Hey there Blaze." He said to his familiar, he had been surprised when he learned that he was good at taming, but he was glad because he knew for certain that he had at least one friend for sure. He had his doubts about others but he didn't let that bother him most of the time. "What should we do today bud?" He asked his familiar who wagged it's tail, this is when Mikhail wished he could telepathically with Blaze.

Aerial maneuvers, you see, were not quite as easy to perform as they looked. It was true that most of the work was done by Chaos - who performed the work flawlessly - but it was up to Dani to be able to hold onto him as he flew. The gale could not be expected to split his concentration between combat and making sure his rider stayed seated on his back.
"Whoa~" she let out a small yelp as the demon made a double loop. What was this... the 6th (?) time now that she found herself almost thrown off her bird? Instinctively, her tiny digits grasped harder on the sleek emerald feathers.
'You're getting better,' came the voice inside her head.
"While reassuring, dear Chaos, that wasn't a very good lie," she answered bitterly. It wasn't, because try as she might, she simply couldn't grasp the motion and currents during the move. She knew she had to lean her body just right to keep things aerodynamic for her familiar. The problem was how.
'You're improving,' came a curt reply. 'How about a break? I think I deserve to have a ride on your shoulder for a bit.'
"Alright," she replied. No sooner had she agreed, the gale swerved and descended. Her legs felt like jelly and she held onto her familiar a little while longer after her dismount.
"Hi there, Mikhail," she greeted. She'd noticed her fellow tamer on her way down. "What's up?" she asked. Danielle flashed him a winning smile just as Chaos, now deciding that Danielle no longer needed his support - shrunk to a more travel-friendly size and alighted on her shoulder. |

There was a giant shadow that started to appear near him. It looked like a bird and no bird should ever be that big. It startled him greatly until he remembered that he had a friend with a familiar bird that could change it's size. Soon Dani, another tamer like himself, was walking towards him, Blaze bounded over to run around her feet as she approached. It was nice to have friends though most of them seemed to be girls for some odd reason.
"Hey Danielle." He smiled softly scratching the back of his head. "I was just practicing with Blaze I guess." He shrugged his shoulders as Blaze bounded over to him, jumping on his legs. "I guess we had the same idea huh?" He said since Chaos her familiar was now on her shoulder, they must have been practicing flying, what an experience that would be.
Blaze continued to jump on Mikhail for attention until he finally got tired of his master not paying attention, so he took a running jump and leaped on Mikhail making him fall backwards. "B-Blaze!" He exclaimed as the hellhound puppy leaped up to lick his face. It was a good thing most of Mikhail's clothes were made with fire resistant fibers so his clothes didn't fall off.

It was always pleasant to see Blaze. The hellhound pup was always so full of energy and so keen to expend it that it was a wonder that his flames hadn't gone out. "Hello Blaze," Danielle chirped blithely. Until he'd met Mikhail and his summon, the blonde tamer had always thought summons to be serious and powerful creatures; much like Thane's Helios and her own gale, Chaos. Needless to say, Blaze had presented a wonderful change of pace.
Her green eyes trailed after the pup and up towards its tamer and she nodded her affirmation to his observation. "We've got such good weather today, Chaos and I thought it a perfect opportunity to go flying," she explained. But when little Blaze leapt, firmly planting the poor boy onto his behind, Chaos and Danielle turned spontaneously to each other. And although neither words nor thoughts passed between them, they each knew what was going on in the other's mind. They were both glad that Danielle had her very serious, very powerful and more importantly very grown-up summon.
"Ehehe~," Dani chuckled wryly, "Blaze, that wasn't very nice..." As sweet as the gesture was, it was terribly unbecoming of a demon to behave in such a way in public - at all, really. That, and it would have been a disaster should the pup be this rambunctious during a for-real mission. "So, do you have any new tricks you could show us?" asked Dani. A change of ambience was in order if they were going to get any real practice done. Not that it was her business, per se, whether or not Miki managed to get any training done. Just that she thought it her duty as a friend to give him a little push every now and then. |

Mikhail grinned slightly at his familiar as it bounded around using some of the energy it kept stored up when he wasn't called or when Mikhail needed his help. Despite what Blaze appeared to be like he understood was what going on and knew that he had to protect Mikhail, so he was good in a fight but he liked to have fun.
He nodded his head in agreement. It was a nice day, hence why he actually got off his lazy butt to do something more productive than play halo. He wondered what it would be like to fly, he could run pretty fast when his hands were engulfed in Blaze's flames, but not for very long, he wouldn't even bother trying to fly. It might have been possible with the heat he could produce but he wasn't gutsy enough for that."It looks like fun." That's what he said but he would never try it.
Mikky ruffled his familiars head, his familiar could tell that he was self conscious about his abilities and normally that was extremely dangerous to a tamer but sometimes he figured that his own familiar was trying to prove something as well. "Well I was thinking I could try and do some stamina training. Or work on evasion." He thought of Professor Rowan and his intense agility training and shuddered slightly, he was going to die because of that one. "But I don't really think I have any new tricks yet." He blushed slightly as he scratched the back of his head.
To Mikhail, Dani was much smarter than he, plus she was cool and collected she didn't shrink back like he did. Not to mention her familiar was pretty cool. He was jealous but mainly he admired her greatly and it really was great for him to have a friend like her.

Awkward though this was. Well, it wasn't all that bad. After all, Blaze would have to do a lot more growing up before he became stronger than Miki and, until then there wasn't much of a reason to worry. Looking at the pair though, it was difficult to imagine the pup capable of goring his master. They had a good thing going, Dani thought as she smiled to herself. For a moment, she felt a faint pricking in her heart. Was that jealousy?
She pushed it aside before it could take root. Blaze was a demon first and foremost. It was an unpleasant fact that familiars never listened to a tamer weaker than themselves. Unpleasant, but a fact nonetheless. "Well if its stamina or evasion, Chaos and I can definitely help with that," she offered. Although her gale was a creature of the wind, Chaos did have counter measures for his elemental weakness. "What say you, Chaos?" she asked the bird on her shoulder.
They ought to give you two a medal for effort, his sardonic voice rang in her mind, for what you have in mind, Danielle. Such a troublesome human...
She pursed her lips. "It'd make flying just a little more interesting, " she said to her demon. "Would it really make you comfortable to rest when you know that Blaze and Miki are training? You're not going to let yourself be outdone by a pup, are you?"
Chaos harrumphed. They haven't even agreed yet...
"That's true," she replied quietly. She turned to Miki. "So, would you like to train together?"

Mikhail watched the two as they had their little conversation. It was hard to follow since he could only hear one side of it. He wished he could communicate with Blaze like that, it would make some things more easy. Though he thought they worked well together most of the time. He hadn't been injured besides a few burns, and they got along well. Maybe he was just being greedy?
To Mikhail there really wasn't need for a question. "Of course." He would be glad to have someone to train with, and he knew Dani so it would be easier for him. There wouldn't be too much danger with her, so he could train without worry of a permanent injury. "If it's alright with Chaos I would greatly appreciate it." He smiled scratching the back of his head again.
It would be interesting for him to fight a flying enemy for a change. He was a close combat fighter unlike some tamers, so he was basically tossed into the front lines. Of course when he was combined with Blaze this didn't bother him as much. as it would on his own since it wiped him clean of emotions. Mikhail took a deep breath and nodded at his familiar who in turn morphed into a ball of flame flying onto Mikhail's head, which brought flames to his hands. He turned his more orangey colored eyes to Dani now. "I'm ready." His voice was steady with that strength Mikhail normally lacked.

Both she and Chaos, that was. Miki and Blaze took to the task eagerly, with Blaze taking his more elemental form. With a small nod, Dani turned to her own familiar and gave him an inquiring glance.
Fine, the Gale's voice resounded in her head even as his body shifted. In a down-played display of swirling winds - because he was so close to the ground - Chaos assumed his true form. A towering bird of green plumage that stood at the height of two grown men. For this, you owe me two scones, he told her, the blue gemstone gleaming brightly in the sun.
"Done," the female tamer answered. "I was thinking of heading to Starbucks later anyway." He swooped her up onto his back with his great wing, the motion aided greatly by the controlled gust of wind the the bird familiar created.
From her perch atop Chaos, Danielle called down towards her classmate. "Then you won't mind us going first then," she said, her tone full of laughter. Those would be the last words Miki would hear from her for a while. For the most part, she trusted her familiar to know what to do. Most of her commands would be made to him using subtle body language. Chaos lifted his wings. With a great sweep, he forced a current that was strong enough to send most people staggering.
By that same action, the bird made himself airborne so that he hovered just a few meters off the ground. The game had begun! |

Mikhail watched as his friend mounted her familiar, all former awe gone from his face. Of course he would feel it later, if he wasn't too sore or tired from the training. But while connected to Blaze all emotion was gone until they separated again. It was how it went. When the bird took off Mikhail jumped back to avoid the gust, it wouldn't be good to get hit by the first move, otherwise he would be worthy of his wimp title.
It was still sort of new to him to be fighting something that was not on the ground with him. Though he had asked for evasion and stamina training so basically he had to dodge as much as possible, which would train both things. Part of him, that was only let lose when combined with Blaze, didn't want Dani to have all the fun though.
"That your best shot?" He taunted, his face and voice still void of emotion. He was definitely like a different person when combined with his familiar but it was the only way he had any strength to fight or will for that matter. He shot flames to his hands, he was basically always wearing his gloves, and prepared for the next attack ready to use the fire as momentum.

By that same token, Dani had also donned a serious mask. Just because this was an exercise didn't mean she had to fool around. She marvelled a little at the jump he had made. Even as he was (that was, without Blaze's assistance) Miki was her superior at close quarters combat. His motion and agility were more controlled now that he wasn't preoccupied with thoughts of self-doubt. Those balls of flame that encased his hands were as intimidating as ever. Fire was her familiar's elemental weakness, after all. Not that she didn't have a counter for that.
Chaos was, of course, un-riled by the childish taunt. She dug both her heels slightly and pressed herself against the silkl softness of his plumage, and in response, the Gale climbed. They soared to a comfortable height and with a slight shifting of her body from side to side, Chaos charged towards the flame-adorned tamer, sending alternate blades of cutting wind towards him on alternate sides in quick succession.
The gusts were hardly strong enough to damage property or kill - she would get into trouble if she didn't hold back on school grounds - but they would definitely cause bruising should they come in contact with flesh. She wouldn't hurt Miki, naturally. Well, not too much anyway. |

Mikhail knew that his fire was good against Dani's wind but he also knew that he would never touch her with it. There was training dummies and such for his close combat, but he couldn't bring himself to hurt Dani, let alone use his taming abilities against her. She was safe from him even if they hadn't been practicing.
He watched as his friend and her familiar soared higher into the sky, he let his body relax so he could move more fluidly and not pull a muscle. If he hadn't been connected with Blaze he would be tensed and freaking out about the oncoming attack. The blades of wind were hard to see the first had managed to slice his arm which was going to leave a nice bruise, of course he couldn't feel the pain yet, but once he was disconnected from Blaze he would feel it, oh boy would he feel it. He was prepared now and kept back stepping so he wouldn't run into another blade of wind.
Of course they had just barely started but Mikhail could only use so much power before getting too tired. Judging from the exercises he knew that he had a good amount of time left. Not to mention Dani would be able to tell since his reaction time and coordinate would be returning to normal. "More." Mikhail said as he dodged the last blade coming at him.

She said nothing however, knowing far better than to caution him and thus ruining the exercise. Mikhail would learn, whether by experience or through the pain that she knew he would suffer from taking hits. Despite his normally-timid demeanor, Dani recognized her friend as a talented tamer and combatant and, she trusted him to be able to make judgements for himself. It was her policy not to give unsolicited advice after all.
"More," she heard him say, his tone indicating that he hadn't been phased in the least by Chaos' wind. That was good.
"You heard him," she whispered to the bird. A series of shifting in her weight dictated the combination that she wanted him to perform.
The Gale responded by folding his wings and spinning - like a drill - and using the resulting momentum to spin five more blades and hurling them at the boy. Only this time, the blades of wind cut at a slightly greater speed, with haphazard directions. |

If he was his normal self it would have concerned him that he couldn't see Dani's reactions but he wasn't so he didn't. Luckily Dani knew him so she wouldn't be too concerned about him, nor would she go to far. They would stop when he needed to stop and that was fine with him for the moment.
His eyes with their reddish tint now, narrowed as the bird started to spin and dive. Normally Mikhail would have been afraid that Dani might fall or throw up or something instead he dodged all the incoming blades, which was pretty good for him since he was still warming up really.
"Again." Still monotonous Mik stared up at the flying bird. Though he was getting slightly tired, and Blaze was almost getting bored. Which would mean things could get interesting if the demon lost interest. He was reliable in a fight to the death, but training wasn't always the same.

It wasn't at all heartening to listen to her classmate speak in such a monotonous voice. She knew that it was merely a side-effect of Blaze's demonic possession. She felt the gale's feathers rile a little underneath her.
"Let's give him a double take," she told him.
Without a word, Chaos climbed, circling until it judged itself to be in the direct glare of the sun. As it shot towards the boy, the gale summoned several blades of wind and as before, hurled them directly against Miki. At the last moment however, the gale sent a gust at the blades, increasing their speed suddenly as they came within a few feet of the boy.
Dani clung tightly onto the gale's feathers. On her part, she did her best to understand the movement of the wind currents and momentum that came with each manoeuvre. |

MIkhail squinted as the bird shot into the sun. He would have to focus harder now, somewhat blinded by the sun and wind being clear it was hard enough to see anyways. But he would be ready, he had to be or it would hurt later. He wouldn't enjoy it though it would be worth it. His one arm was going to hurt already from the earlier blow so he was trying not to get hit again. Though that was technically his main objective all along.
He managed to dodge the first few blades of wind that were coming at him at tremendous speeds. As he was staring down the last one the fire extinguished from his hands and the ball of fire flew from his head to land as a the puppy on the ground. Mikhail blinked and then there was a bigger hellhound tackling him down to the ground and out of the way of the blades.
All in all, he would have been in a whole lot more pain than he was if he hadn't been saved by the bigger hellhound that was eyeing him now. Where had it come from? Had he summoned it? He hadn't remembered summoning it, mainly he could only summon Blaze. "Get up, I don't see why Blaze even stays with you." Mikhail's eyes grew, the demon was speaking in his head! "DANI!" He yelled trying to back away. "Fool, you summoned me." Fury said as he sat, scratching an ear. "I'm Fury the older brother of Blaze." Mikhail stared at the hellhound then looked at Dani. "D-Did you see me summon him? I don't remember summoning him." His arm hurt and he was kind of afraid of the big black dog in front of him, but it was also pretty cool.
